NCC Approved Unified USSD Codes For All Mobile Networks In Nigeria (2024)

Unified NCC USSD codes have been certified for use across all Nigerian mobile networks by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC). All national mobile networks will support the harmonised shortcodes (HSC).

This indicates that all mobile network service providers will utilise the same customer service number, code, etc. for checking data balances, recharging credits on phones, etc.

The Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) Registration/NIN-SIM connection is now verified using the code “996” on MTN, GLO, AIRTEL, SMILE, 9MOBILE, etc.

For the purpose of handling complaints about Do-Not-Disturb (DND) unsolicited messaging, the code “2442” will now be used on all Nigerian mobile networks.

For mobile number portability services, commonly known as porting services, the standard code 3232 is preserved.

Up until May 17 of 2023, when all networks are anticipated to have fully converted to full adoption of the new codes, the old and new harmonised short codes will operate side by side.

Below are the approved NCC unified USSD codes for all Nigerian networks

  • Call Centre: 300
  • Borrow Services: *303#
  • Stop Service: *305#
  • Check Balance: *310#
  • Credit Recharge: *311#
  • Data Plan: *312#
  • Data plan balance: *323#
  • Share Services: *321#
  • DND: 2442
  • Porting services: 3232
  • NIN Verification and NIN-SIM Linkage: *996#

These codes have been fully implemented by some of the major mobile networks such as MTN, GLO, AIRTEL and 9MOBILE. For those seeking to find MTN new ussd codes or mtn new code to check balance and mtn new recharge code, the unified codes by NCC above answers this.
