Sokoto state has many wealthy business men with investments in various sectors in Nigeria. Currently the richest man in Sokoto state alive is Alhaji Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa whose net worth runs in billions of Naira.

Late Abuh Dankure
Popularly known as Kure. He was born on 23, May 1943 in Sokoto. He grew up in the city of Sokoto but had to move out of the state for some reasons. He doesn’t get much of Tertiary education but that doesn’t make him an illiterate as he could speak English, Hausa etc.
He died last year May, despite his demise, he still seen as the richest man from Sokoto State till now. His net worth isn’t known.
Abuh Dankure was a close associate with the former state governor (Aliyu Wamakko).This friendship made him the favorite contractor for any projects worth billions from the governor. Among the many contracts he received from the government were the road dualization from Tamaje to Angwarogo and the reconstruction of Sokoto state stadium located at Rijiya
It was reported on the 7th of May, 2016 that Abuh dankure was kidnapped by hoodlums. Confirming his kidnap was Almustapha Sani as the kidnappers requested for a sum of 50million which was paid by his family members.
It must interest you to know that he played a major role in the development of Sokoto State; he built houses, shops, mansions thereby ensuring that the state was enlarged.
Alhaji Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa
He is the former governor of Sokoto State. He was the longest serving governor that the state had ever witnessed. Born on the 31st, May 1954, he is the second richest man in sokoto state with a net worth of about $1.5 billion.
He built more than 70 mosques across the state. Although he had other businesses especially in the oil and gas sector, the major source of his wealth was from politics.
Aliyu Wamakko Magatadarka
Another governor worth being in the top richest men in the state is Aliyu Wamakko Magatadarka. He was known for his lavish spending during his tenure as governor of the state.
This is one of the most respected first class kings in Nigeria. He is the Sultan of sokoto state and spiritual leader of Islam in the cout try.
Apart from the monetary values, Sa’ad Abubakar is a man with honour, fame and dignity. He is the one who decides when to celebrate muslim festivals in Nigeria, unless he declares a day for celebration, no one
can go on to celebrate in the whole of the country.
He was born on 24th May 1956 in Sokoto state. He studied at Barewa college, Zaria. It may interest you to know that he was once a military personnel (soldier with a brigadier general’s rank).

Ibikoye where did you get your source of information. Abu dankure died during the tenure of Alu wamakko and he was kidnapped in 2013 or 2014 not 2016 as u reported.
