Olajumoke Orisaguna is a native of Osun state, She was brought up in Ire local government area, Osun state. As a result of her poor family background, she has no formal education and couldn’t speak English language.
Olajumoke, also known as jummy, was trained as an hairdresser. During this period of her training, she met Sunday Orisaguna whom she later marry after some years of courtship.
Meeting Sunday, a professional artist was an opportunity to learn more about life as she learned a lot from Sunday’s lifestyle according to her.
According to a popular saying ‘there is time for everything,’ they started dating and it led to their marriage. Olajumoke and Sunday got married in 2010. Their marriage was blessed with two children.
According to Olajumoke, There were lots of financial challenges facing her family. As a result of the financial set-back, she decided to relocate to Lagos in order to make more income to support her family while her husband stayed back in Osun where he worked as an artiste.
Olajumoke quit her hairdressing job, then traveled to Lagos with one of her children leaving the other 5-year old daughter with her husband.
Getting to Lagos, Olajumoke stayed with one of her relatives who invited her to work there, she started working at Sabo marketing bakery. It was later said that she would work form 2:30 pm to 11 pm, selling and distributing bread.
According to Jumoke, while speaking in a lifestyle show, she always sell N7, 000 worth of bread while her personal profit was just N350. Despite the little profit she’s making, she continued with the job since she was doing it for the sake of her family, she kept believing that all would be well.
How She Became Popular
One day, while she was busy selling bread as usual, she never knew there was a photo shoot section going on at that area. Fortunately she appeared in one of the pictures background taken by TY Bello when she was photographing a famous British rapper, Tinie Tempah.
Toyin Sokefun-Bello known as TY Bello born on the 14th of January 1992, in Ogun state, Nigeria. A Gospel Singer, songwriter, photographer and a philanthropist. After editing the photos, saw the beauty of a model in Jumoke when she was carrying the bread on her head.
TY posted the photos on various social media and saw the positive reaction of people, then she decide to help her become a popular model.
This is where the miracle of Olajumoke started. TY Bello organized a photo shoot for Olajumoke. The make-up was done by Bimpe Onakoya while her hair was made by Zubby.
To TY Bello’s greatest surprise, the photos where amazing that they appeared on a popular magazine cover named “Style magazine”.
Through this, she became a famous lady and she signed a contract with different modeling agencies, Interneship and works. Despite not being able to speak English language fluently, she was able to make it through her tough time.
Her husband Sunday, was amazed at his wife’s success, He later moved to Lagos to join his wife. At this point, her children were offered scholarship by a bank who volunteer to pay their fee to any length of their choice.
She was also offered a joint scholarship initiated by Sujimoto Group and Poise, where she would be learning and taught Etiquette, social graces, grooming and communication at Poise Nigeria, one of the most prestigious schools in the country.
