Life Journey of Chizoba Orji
It was a peaceful Friday, 27th October 1989, a loud cry of joy was heard from the labour ward of Holy ROSARY specialist and maternity hospital, Onitsha.
On that faithful day, Chizoba Orji was born into the family of late Mr John Orji and Mrs Theresa Orji. Chizoba is from Adazi-Nnukwu, Anambra State.
Early Life & Education
After passing through a compulsory informal education which every child must obtain from their parents as a toddler, chizoba’s parents enrolled him in a school, Kezz Foundation school, Onitsha where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificaate in the year 2001.
Due to his performance in his common entrance examination, he gained addmission into the prestigious Christ the King College Onitsha, where he obtained his senior secondary school certificate, in the year 2007.
Chizoba, after passing through the prestigious college was prepared to enter into the university. He gained admission into Anambra State University now known as Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu university, where he obtained B.sc in economics in the year 2012.
He later moved to Ogun state for his NYSC in the year 2013 where he served under Ogun State Coperative College, an affliate of Olabisi Onabanjo university as an assistant lecturer.
By 2014, Chizoba attended Project Management Professional Institute, Lagos where he obtained certificate in project management and also in 2018 he obtained certificate in basic presentation from National Broadcast Academy which was formerly known as Radio Nigeria Training School, Lagos.
Chizoba is a visually impaired. He was born with his full sight and nobody expected that one day his sight will fail him.
It all began in 2010, when he started experiencing minor disturbances in the eyes. By 2012, his sight was already getting worse, he was in his final year in the university by then which he manage and graduated. He was later diagonised of having retinitis pigmentosean as the cause of the visual impairment.
This unexpected situation left Chizoba in a state of been demoralized. He gradually began to loose self esteem and started facing societal discrimination. This lasted for a year before he now accepted his reality and decided to attend a rehabilitation centre.
It was at the rehabilitation that his approach to his present condition was changed, he was able to develop skills which launched him back into the society and gradully he began to regain his self esteem.
Since then, he has championed fight for people leaving with visual impairment, organising and hosting programmes that will give the visual impaired people a platform to excel.
Chizoba Orji is a content developer, a presenter, an entrepreneur, and a director.
He developed interest in entertainment and decided to build his career around it. He worked at pisces audio visual as a presenter.
As an entrepreneur, he set up his own production concept named “Johns Vision Production Concept”. He initiated a Tv reality show “the blind got talent”, which is a platform a for the visual impaired to showcase their talent.
In July 2018, he was interviewed at the Lagos Television under Soni Irabo live show where he explained his quest in bringing the visaully impaired into the front line of the Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
