If you are a serving catholic youth corp member, you are expected to identify with your fellow Christian corpers. The National Association of Catholic Corp Members (NACC) is the umbrella that covers all Nigerian Christian Corpers of the Roman Catholic denomination in the country and they are present in every state of the federation.

The National Association of Catholic Corps Members (NACC) was founded in March 1982 as an organization by the Most Rev. Dr. Gabriel Gonsum Ganaka, former Archbishop of Jos, Plateau State. He was also the body’s first coordinator. NACC was established with the sole aim of bringing all serving Catholic corps members in Nigeria under one faith.

During its formative stage, the organization was initially referred to as the Association of Catholic Corpers (ACC), and had its presence in Jos, Plateau State. It was the need to reach out to other members around the country that saw the association spread to every part of the federation, thereby, achieving its national status as an organization which caters for Catholic corpers in Nigeria.

It was Archbishop Gabriel Gonsum Ganaka who donated the land where the building of the NACC National Secretariat was to be erected while Archbishop Ignatius Ayau Kaigama, Archbishop Emeritus of Jos laid the foundation stone of the organization’s secretariat in 2003.

It was on March 2, 2008, that the NACC was recognized and officially approved by the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) and appointed Rev. Fr. Celsus Daklong of the Catholic Diocese of Shendam as National Chaplain of the Corp Members. Recognised as the fourth youth organization in the youth apostolate of the Roman Catholic Church in Nigeria, NACC works in unison with the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria CSN to achieve its objectives.

Also, the NACC, in conjunction with the Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria, CYON, Nigeria Federation of Catholic Students, NFCS and the Young Catholic Students of Nigeria, YCSN sends its yearly reports and plans to the secretary of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria Youth Committee.

NCCF, which stands for Nigeria Christian Corpers Fellowship is the body that houses other inter-denominational, non-denominational and protestant NYSC youth corp members in the country. It is also important that corpers under this group identify with their various state chapters. NACC is subject to the authority of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC.

NACC Objectives

The objectives of the National Association of Catholic Corps Members in Nigeria that it aims to achieve include:

  • Creating a forum that unites and promotes interaction among catholic corps members.
  • To ensure that the aims and objectives of the NYSC scheme are achieved.
  • To help spread the gospel by propagating the catholic faith while ensuring that its members live by the faith they profess.
  • To positively impart through vairous projects to the host communities where the organization is situated.
  • To foster the welfare of its members in a bid to create leadership traits among her members.

Motto & Slogan

The official motto of the NACC is “Faith and Service” while their slogan is “Corps Members for Christ” .


Addresses of NACC state chapters in Nigeria

As seen in the image of the NACC logo above, it comprises of a shield that contains the map of Nigeria, surrounded by the Rosary while a Crucifix at installed at the middle of the map.

The NYSC torch as shown above the map of Nigeria and the Crucifix signifies light. At the base of the Shield is the association’s motto while the association’s name is boldly written in between the concentric circles rightly above the base.

The NACC logo colours include green and white which are the colours of the Nigerian flag, as well as red and black.

NACC Anthem Lyrics

This is the NACC anthem which is usually sung during meetings, fellowships and conventions, by its members:

Corp members come together as one,
United in one accord, in the love of Jesus Christ,
To achieve our unity goal.

To defend our Catholic faith;

Contact Address Of NACC State Chapters in Nigeria

The headquarters of the NACC National Secretariat is located in Jos, Plateau State while other state chapters secretariats are normally situated at the Cathedral where the Bishop’s and Archbishop’s of the Catholic church is present in all 36 states of the Nation, including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

  1. I can’t wait to do my NYSC, am currently in my finals. I pray the Nigerian Government works on the proposed increment of the NYSC allowance from N19,000 to N30,000.

    1. I couldn’t find that particular information, but i believe that it can be gotten from the catholic church in that vicinity

I was corper in 2015 and camped in Bauchi state,I was with Nacc as a member and the experience was awesome but something happened as I pledged some amount to the church but couldn’t fulfill it ,this is because I lost the account number am suppose to use for the payment and I also lost the contact numbers I would have reached to help me, please can I get the coordinators mobile number to reach him please?
